to survive: follow the lanterns with the slide thingy. it shall lead you to a cave with a bedroom, library, public pool (it was neccessary), field and a refuge place. if you are already in the bedroom, then might as well explore. and the worse part: mobs are EVERYWHERE. on le bright side, its in creative mode. :)
